Bio

Pronouns: they/them/elle

Salim was born in the coastal city of Barranquilla, Colombia and raised in Miami, FL before moving to the Hudson Valley. They came here to attend Bard College, where they became a student of history, politics, people, and self. After graduating from Bard College, they decided to call the Hudson Valley their home and it became the place that reconnected them with Mother Earth. This led Salim to want to honor their personal and ancestral connection to the land and work in right relationship with it, listening to it and the many different peoples who've stewarded it throughout time.

Salim has worked as a community organizer, case manager, and worker rights advocate. They love music and have participated in many jams in the Hudson Valley. They are an artist, a poet, a yogi, and a student of life. They are also a dedicated capoerista, so you'll often find them in a handstand or rolling on the ground in open fields of grass.
