Kendal was born and raised in Kingston, NY. After going on her first missionary trip at 15 years old, she knew that community development was her passion. She's spent the last 7 years serving others in any way possible, leading her to the Dominican Republic, Peru, Colombia, Washingston, DC., Baltimore, and beyond. After studying sociology and strategic communications at the illustrious Howard University, Kendal found her professional home in supporting non-profits and community organizations in development/operations -- helping them to take their impact to the next level. In 2021, she returned to Kingston to "give back to the community that made her into the person she is today." Kendal now works with multiple community organizations, including Thrive On! Network, Seasoned Gives, and the Kingston Food Co-op.
Kendal believes in a more sustainable, inclusive future for our city. She has watched Kingston transform greatly over the course of her life, and wants to see these changes work for us rather than against us. Kendal was drawn to the KLT by her desire to protect the land she grew up on, and her hopes of seeing increased access to ownership and food education.
