An Earth Day Celebration (in remembrance of Renno Budziak)
TownOfUlsterCitizens.org, Kingston Land Trust and Seed Song Farm are joining together to host an Earth Day Celebration at 48 Buckley Street and Seed Song Farm (160 Esopus Ave) in the town of Ulster.
SCHEDULE:
12pm we will remember Renno Budziak by dedicating a site along the Esopus Creek at 48 Buckley St with a planted tree and plaque. There will be speakers, including town of Ulster Town Supervisor James Quigley, III, and music. This is open to the public.
1pm
Earth Day festivities begin, including a creekside walk that will leave from 48 Buckley at 1:10pm. All activities besides site dedication, creekside walk, and canoe tutorial will talk place at Seed Song Farm (160 Esopus Ave)
--narrated agroecological hayrides between Seed Song farm and 48 Buckley
--canoe tutorial and paddling on the Esopus Creek with Rondout Creek-based Day Away Kayak Rentals
--live music provided by local 5-piece Bluegrass Band “No Breaks” and Kingston-based American roots musician Michael Francis McCarthy
--community planting of heritage Native American seeds and native shrub and tree saplings
--Seed Song farm annual sale of veggie and herb starts for people to purchase and transplant in their home gardens.
--nature-based arts and crafts
--visit from the inspiring Parrots for Peace
--Refreshments, including pancakes and hyper-local maple syrup tapped and boiled by Seed Song Farm.
Bring the whole family! There will be something for every age.
The rain date is May 4th.
