EMPLOYMENT
SEASONAL LAND STEWARD
The Kingston Land Trust (KLT) is seeking a Seasonal Land Steward for the 2026 season. The primary role of the Seasonal Land Steward is the caretaking, stewardship, and monitoring of KLT-protected land in the City of Kingston, Town of Ulster, and Town of Hurley.

Ideally, this role involves working across all KLT properties. When working at the Land In Black Hands (LIBH) land base, the Seasonal Land Steward will steward the land in alignment with LIBH’s values and community-centered practices, emphasizing cultural humility, accountability, and care for land as a site of healing and repair. For stewards who bring lived experience from communities historically excluded from land access and decision-making, there may be opportunities to take on additional leadership grounded in relationship, trust, and mutual accountability.
This role balances independent, hands-on land work with teamwork, communication, and shared planning within the stewardship team. Seasonal Land Stewards report to the Land Stewardship Coordinator for day-to-day supervision and operations, and all members of the Stewardship team are accountable to the Director and to KLT’s broader shared leadership structure.
