Fall Fest '24

Fall Fest returns celebrating the changing season and connections in our community and with the land through music, dance, art, and community-based public edible landscaping design!

Fall Fest 2024 will see the return of some of the same artists and activities that made Fall Fest such a blast last year, including the local hip hop and soul collective Freequency, Afro-Brazilian Martial Art and dance (capoeira), and community drumming.

Rain date Sunday October 20th.

Grupo de Capoeira Angola do Acupe (Afro-Brazilian Martial Art and dance): Hudson-based group that practices a martial art dance form that has origins in Central and Western Africa and was developed in Brazil by captured Africans and indigenous Brazilians as a means of liberation from oppression. It is accompanied by music and most songs are sung in Portuguese.

FREEQUENCY: Kingston-based hip hop and soul collective. This collective performed at KLT Fall Fest 2023 and the Grand Opening of the KLT’s July 2024 Red Fox Ravine.

Krista Speroni: Hudson-Valley based musician, educator, and land steward on a mission of inspiring solidarity through music, movement & supporting healthy food systems to reclaim the beauty & power of our humanity. Krista also teaches hand drumming workshops for kids and adults inspired by her musical studies in Senegal.
