El tema de esta cena de Comida y tierra es alojamiento y ser dueño de una casa por primera vez, con presentaciones cortas por El Kingston Land Trust, Rupco, y el Banco de Terrenos de la Ciudad de Kingston sobre iniciativas existentes y anunciadas.

La cena es gratis y abierta al público, pero coleccionamos una donación sugerida de $20 en la puerta de personas que no son hispanohablantes nativos ($10 para tu cena y $10 para la cena de un hispanohablante nativo, que ofrece apoyo lingüístico como voluntario)

Comida y tierra es un programa del Kingston Land Trust que reune a hablantes de español con aquellos que quieren practicar su español durante una comida en los restaurantes latinos en Kingston. La meta es crear conciencia sobre todo lo que tenemos en común como residentes acerca de recursos como parques, jardines, viviendas y vías para bicicletas.

Hispanohablantes nativos están disponibles en cada mesa para ayudar a facilitar la conversación y ofrecer conocimiento y ayuda a los que están practicando su español (y se ofrece una comida en agradecimiento para su involucración).

The topic of this Comida y tierra is housing and first time homeownership, with short presentations by the Kingston Land Trust, Rupco, and the City of Kingston Land Bank about existing and upcoming initiatives.

Cost: The event is free and open to the public, but we do collect a $20 suggestion donation at the door from participants who are not native Spanish-speakers ($10 for the participant's buffet meal, and $10 to cover the meal of native Spanish speakers, who provide volunteer language facilitation at each table).

Comida y tierra (Food and Land) is a program of the Kingston Land Trust that brings together native Spanish-speakers and people who want to practice Spanish over a meal in Kingston’s Hispanic restaurants. The goal is to build awareness about all that we have in common as residents of Kingston regarding resources such as parks, gardens, housing, and bike lanes.

Native Spanish speakers are stationed at each table to help move the conversation along and offer insight and assistance to those who are practicing their Spanish (and are offered a meal in appreciation for their involvement).
