Community Design Session and Pizza Party

Map out a community-led design to convert asphalt and grass to edible abundance and other gifts!

For a few years now, we have been partnering with community members to design a public food forest and parklet along the Kingston Greenline at Rondout Gardens. Fueled by pizza, fresh donuts, and late summer delights, a team including neighborhood residents, professional designers, educators, and land stewards will lead us in using chalk and other natural materials to map out the current design for this community-led makeover from asphalt and grass to soil, fruit-bearing plants, a digital interactive kiosk, and places to sit and convene with your neighbors. The goal is embodiment and visualization of this transformation of public space to gather more input so it can be finalized and installed this coming fall and spring!
