Harvest Gathering: Of Seeds and Soils @ LIBH
Come gather with us at Land In Black Hands (LIBH) for our annual Harvest Gathering—a day of food, farming, storytelling, learning, and connection on the land.
This year, in collaboration with Inside the Husk, we’ll explore the living relationships between soil, seeds, people, and place. Together, we’ll consider soil not simply as “dirt,” but as a living community—and farming as a practice of cultural connection, healing, and sovereignty.
We’ll celebrate the work growing at LIBH, including our Purple Collard Project grow-out and seed stories, and draw inspiration from our growing relationships with the Hudson Valley Farm Hub and other partners working to preserve and expand our region’s agricultural knowledge and seed heritage.
Expect opportunities to get your hands in the soil, explore the microscopic life beneath our feet, share food and stories, and learn about the seeds and plants connecting generations. Participants will also receive seeds to take home and continue growing their own relationship with the land.
Come celebrate what we’ve grown, what we’re learning, and what we’re planting for the future.
