Growing Community and Conservation: Kingston Land Trust to Honor Regional Leaders at End of the Year Fundraiser

The Kingston Land Trust (KLT) invites the community to Deep Roots – New Branches: End of the Year Celebration taking place Thursday, November 20, 2025, from 4–7 PM at the Senate Garage (4 North Front Street, Kingston, NY).

This year’s event honors Scenic HudsonLa Voz and Steve Rosenberg and Rebecca Gillman Crimmins of the Hudson Valley Alliance for Housing & Conservation, for their dedication to advancing a regional ecosystem of care rooted in equity, environmental stewardship, and collaboration. Their leadership reminds us that protecting land is inseparable from protecting community — and that when we root our work in caring for people and place, we can grow something resilient, vibrant, and just.

The evening will feature local food and music, an auction, storytelling, and reflections from community partners and staff. Guests will have the opportunity to connect with neighbors, celebrate a year of impact, and help fuel the next chapter of KLT’s work.

"This celebration reflects the strength of our partnerships and the community that sustains our work," said KLT board member, Megan Offner. "By honoring these remarkable leaders and coming together to support our shared mission, we ensure that our roots grow deep and our branches continue to reach wide across the Hudson Valley."

Celebrating a Year of Growth and Community Impact

The Kingston Land Trust continues to build a legacy grounded in ecological and social justice. In 2025, the organization achieved full land trust accreditation, joining a national network of organizations recognized for excellence and permanence in conservation.

“Accreditation demonstrates Kingston Land Trust’s commitment to permanent land conservation in the Lower Hudson Valley,” said Michael Dillinger, KLT Board Chair. “We are a stronger organization for having gone through the Land Trust Alliance’s rigorous accreditation program.” The Land Trust Accreditation Commission awarded accreditation, signifying its confidence that KLT lands will be protected forever.

KLT also expanded trails at the Red Fox Ravine Preserve, enhancing public access and habitat protection, and grew its Comida y Tierra gatherings, which create space for cultural exchange and food sovereignty rooted in land and community. The Land In Black Hands program deepened its work to strengthen land stewardship and leadership within Black communities. KLT is also in the process of protecting of 50 acres of Esopus floodplain.

Every dollar raised through this event supports KLT’s mission to preserve and steward critical lands that enhance ecological health and community access, support affordable housing and equitable access to land, and center Indigenous, Black, and marginalized voices in land relationships and decision-making. As KLT looks toward 2026, the organization aims to raise $200,000 to continue stewarding lands and relationships that serve all who call the Hudson Valley home.
