Achva Benzinberg Stein Falsa

Achva Benzinberg Stein is a professor emerita and former department chair at several leading universities, including City College of New York, North Carolina State University, and the University of Southern California. She currently resides in Woodstock, where she continues to share an office of City and Regional Planning with her partner and spouse, J. David Stein.  Her work spans public parks, schools, housing, campuses, and the restoration of degraded lands. A Fellow of the American Society of Landscape Architects and two-time Fulbright Fellow, she has worked and taught internationally, with a particular focus on community-centered design and creating healthier, more equitable urban environments. She is a member of the Trees' committee of Woodstock and an active Board Member of the Friends of the Hoover Durant Public Library in Oakland, California. She is also the designer of the Moroccan Courtyard, a permanent installation at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
