Matthew Gioia

Matthew Gioia lives in Kingston, NY and has served as a volunteer with the Kingston Land Trust for the past year, supporting stewardship efforts and community-based land care in the Hudson Valley. He brings a long-standing personal practice of hunting, gathering, and wild-crafting on the local landscape, which has shaped his deepening familiarity with regional ecosystems and the local nonhuman community.

His work and lived experience reflect a strong commitment to land stewardship and a belief in learning directly from the landscape. He is particularly interested in questions of reciprocity, care, and responsibility in human relationships with the natural world.
